Artwork description
The Isles of Scilly are famous for the Scilly Shrew also known as the Lesser White Toothed Shrew. They are only found on the Isles of Scilly, Jersey and Sark. There is some evidence that the Scilly Shrew has existed since the Bronze Age, probably introduced by boats from France and Northern Spain. They have adapted to life on the seashore feeding on small crustaceans.
The method used is etching on a copper plate with hard ground and aquatint.
Materials used:
Somerset Satin Paper, Oil Printing ink
