Original artwork description
This is the second in my series of Macaw paintings which I've created from various reference photos in my photo library. Creating this painting wasn't the easiest of tasks due to the complexity of the composition, and also the preparation drawing prior to the painting process. I'm happy with the final result despite this photo of the painting being inferior to the splendour of the colours that one sees when viewing the painting in real life.
An art critics review, following an exhibition in Toulouse,France" Julians' ability to bring realism to has work is astounding;More than photorealism, he paints what the human eye sees when viewing his subjects in real life. His use of light and shade,to create form,is second to none."
Please note,I choose to paint on heavyweight water colour paper,as it suits my style of painting. Also, once my paintings are framed behind glass they are protected from atmospheric grime for life, unlike oil paintings that can accumulate grime which dulls the colours over a period of time.
