Title: Saying Hi to Me That Was the Stranger All Along
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
Dimensions: 48"H x 24"W
Series: The Breath of Memory
Year: 2025
Description:
Saying Hi to Me That Was the Stranger All Along is a meditation on recognition and distance — how memory shifts shape, and how the self returns in unfamiliar ways. Layers of deep umber and shadowed black build toward a faint horizon of muted light, where vertical gestures rise like echoes of presence. The surface carries both density and breath — stillness holding movement, quiet holding complexity.
This piece is part of my new series, The Breath of Memory, which explores the emotional terrain between remembering and forgetting. Each painting in the series seeks to embody what lingers — the fragments that stay, the whispers that surface when silence deepens. For me, this work speaks to the moment of meeting oneself again through time — tender, uncertain, yet undeniable.
Artist Statement:
My practice is rooted in intuition, process, and emotional honesty. I work through abstraction as a language for the unseen — gestures of thought, breath, and recollection translated through paint. Each piece begins with an impulse rather than a plan, allowing the work to unfold as memory itself does: layered, imperfect, and human.
Additional Details:
Original, one-of-a-kind painting
Acrylic on professional-grade canvas
Signed on the front, with certificate of authenticity included
Ready to hang or frame to preference
Collector’s Note:
This painting holds a quiet gravity — rich in tone, restrained in gesture. It carries a contemplative weight that invites slow looking and introspection. Its depth and subtle tonal range make it ideal for collectors drawn to work that feels both atmospheric and deeply personal.
