This painting is an improvisation in line and colour, its forms suggest flora , arabesques, psychedelic vistas or visual music. Some of the shapes are influenced by calligraphy, glyphs, or the symbols of musical manuscript. I like to think of the painting as similar to a piece of music, with a sense of rhythm, harmonics and dynamic range across the visual field of the work.
