These are a pair of my sandals that I wore when I was two years old. My first shoes. My mother kept them and constantly watched my feet grow compared to these little sandals that remember my first uncertain steps. The sandals have aged over the decades, but they have retained a piece of my childhood.
I depicted them on canvas in their actual size.
I poured my heart into this piece, capturing the tender innocence and fragile first steps of childhood. Using rich oil textures, I brought these tiny shoes to life—symbols of beginnings and the journey ahead. This painting radiates warmth and nostalgia, filling any space with the gentle energy of growth and memory. It’s a celebration of precious moments that shape who we become.
