Samadhi draws the viewer into a sensorial and introspective experience through the ancient medium of encaustic. The richly textured surface, immersed in shades of purple, evokes an internal landscape — an intangible space where consciousness dissolves into silence. The interplay of color and texture creates a contemplative atmosphere, alluding to the stillness and depth associated with the meditative state from which the work takes its name.
“Samadhi,” a Sanskrit term, refers to the highest state of meditative absorption, where the boundaries between observer and observed cease to exist. In this piece, subtle shifts between light and shadow, density and translucency, invite prolonged observation — almost hypnotic — that transcends the visual and enters the spiritual.
More than an aesthetic exploration, this work becomes a symbolic portal to inner stillness. The encaustic medium, ritualistic and timeless, serves as a conduit for introspection, making Samadhi a visual meditation in its own right.
