This artwork was created using a combination of palette knife work, fine brush layering, scraping, and glazing. The textured surface reveals a rich interplay of matte and glossy finishes, revealing depth and structure.
The color palette blends stormy gray, driftwood brown, stone beige, deep ocean blue, hints of soft white, and vibrant lemon yellow. Sharp lines break the atmospheric flow, creating a structured balance in an otherwise fluid composition.
I painted “Salt Wind Memory” after an unexpected detour during a coastal road trip. A storm was moving over the sea, and I stopped by a deserted stretch of shore, where everything smelled of salt and electricity. I didn’t sketch it—I simply absorbed it, like an imprint. Days later, back in my studio, I couldn’t stop thinking about that strange, cinematic light. This painting emerged in one sitting. The yellow touches represent flashes of memory—sharp, but fleeting. It felt like translating the wind into color.
