Original artwork description
I have been working on several paintings using bunny ears, they are not just amusing to me they represent being in disguise and I think they must act like a forcefield that makes you feel safe and secure, untouchable, sheilded from the world outside.
The idea came after watching a film called The Seven Pyschopaths starring Colin Farrell (I thoroughly recommend it!) one of the pyschos was wearing bunny ears and he looked kind of funny even cute despite being a murderer.
I've decided when I sell my next painting I will invest in some and see if they make me feel enveloped in fluffy safeness or maybe I'll just look mad and perhaps they are simply what crazy people wear...like a uniform...I'm just not sure but I can't wait to find out!
This choclate brown labrador is wearing his with pride and has definately gone for the safety aspect hense the name 'Safety Gear' he has been painted with acrylics on a 12x12 inch wooden panel on a blue background, the edges are painted yellow ochre.
