Harvest Time (Safely Gathered In) Original Acrylic Painting by Michele Wallington

Now is the time that the harvest is taking place in the countryside surrounding my home village here in Oxfordshire. The constant buzz of the combines and tractors goes on throughout the days and nights. I walk my dog regularly around these golden fields and love the stark contrast of the blue/greys against the warm golds of the corn stalks and stubble when the skies darken with impending rain! This painting is done using acrylic paints on a square canvas ready to hang, with the sides painted a sienna colour (or white if you prefer) so no need to frame. Alternatively I may be able to provide a frame if you prefer, so please contact me for this option.
The whole painting is done over a ground of warm sienna which glows through here and there. I have used layers of paint in glazes to keep the light.
