Aletheia is the Greek term for "truth" or "unconcealment"; the act of removing the veil. This title suggests that the exposed, raw matter is the revealed truth that lies beneath the patina of appearance.
The artwork does not simply show a composition, but stages the philosophical act of Aletheia, where the essence forcefully emerges, freeing itself from the oblivion and concealment of the surface.
The artwork becomes a mirror; our interiority is also composed of layers of concealment that must be ripped apart to reach our "fundamental reality."
