RURAL MAREMMA : CLOUD STUDY 9

This work is rooted in the landscape that surrounds me every day. The Maremma is a constant presence — something lived rather than observed — shaping my sensitivity to light, space, and movement.

In Cloud Study 9, I wanted to hold onto a feeling rather than a precise place. The image is intentionally soft, as if seen in passing or remembered later. Shapes blur into one another, allowing the landscape to become a quiet presence instead of a description.

The horizontal flow reflects the calm rhythm of the countryside, while the gentle movement suggests wind, distance, and passing time. There is no single point to focus on — the eye is free to wander, just as it does when looking at the horizon.

The colours are subtle and natural: pale greens, warm earth tones, and soft greys blend with light whites in a way that feels muted and peaceful. These tones echo the atmosphere of the Maremma, where light is often diffused and everything feels slightly suspended.

This piece is part of my ongoing Rural Maremma series, where landscape becomes a space for pause, memory, and quiet emotion.
