There's a certain charm in these rural vignettes that has always drawn me in. The sight of oxen still playing a vital role in daily life, like pulling a sturdy cart, is something I find deeply compelling. This painting is another expression of that fascination. Here, the robust form of the white oxen against the warm, earth-toned paper captures a different facet of rural life – the journey, the transport, the connection between animal and purpose. I've aimed for a painterly and somewhat impressionistic feel, trying to convey not just the visual details of the blue cart and the powerful animals, but the underlying rhythm and essence of this everyday scene I've witnessed.
Most of the painting is done with opaque watercolors. I've used a graphite pencil lightly to put in the background. Signed and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
