When I painted Rowing Boats, I wanted to capture the quiet beauty of small boats resting by the water. Using thick impasto strokes and a palette knife, I built layers of texture that give the impression of movement and light dancing across the surface. For me, this painting is about stillness mixed with the energy of color.
