Roses in aragonese Pyrenees (2025) Original Pastel Drawing by Victoria Ramanovich

This painting was created en plein air in the Spanish Pyrenees, in the village of Cerler, in the summer of 2025. These roses were growing (and I suspect still grow) beside a beautiful house that was literally overflowing with flowers of every kind.
I painted early in the morning and could hear the residents of the house waking up, having breakfast, and getting their child ready for kindergarten. As they stepped outside, they found me sitting on a bench across the street.

In this work, I wanted to convey the richness of the August air and the vivid brightness of the roses.

The artwork is framed under glass in a wooden frame with a light pink mat.
