Original artwork description

Painted en plein air on the Mendocino coast, this piece captures the fresh, breezy spirit of a sunny day at the beach surrounded with rocky cliffs.
Cook’s Beach landscape, located about two miles north of the town of Gualala, is classic Sonoma and Mendocino County coastline– flat, nearly treeless headlands overlooking a broad wind-protected sandy beach with dramatic ocean views. Fun fact - Cooks Beach was once known as “Smuggler’s Cove”. This sandy beach was a popular place for the rum runners to come ashore during the Prohibition era.

Materials used to create this artwork: Professional oils on linen mounted to Sintra panel. The painting is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish and ready for framing. It will easily slot into a standard 8"x10" picture frame. No glass needed when framing oil paintings.

Materials used:

oil paint, linen canvas, art panel, varnish
