We discovered this spot on a country walk between Snape and Aldeburgh. The scene depicts what was a freshwater lake, separated from the River Alde by a sea wall until it was breached during winter storms in 2016 and is now brackish water. The salinity of the water does not suit the trees along the waters edge which are now dead and blackened. The peaceful scene must have been quite different from that winter storm.
