I created this textured oil painting to depict Riomaggiore at night. The scene features brightly lit houses climbing the hillside, contrasted against the dark surroundings and night sky. Boats float in the foreground, their reflections slightly distorted in the water. My process involved building up layers of oil paint with a palette knife, emphasizing form and movement through texture. This painting is based on my impressions of the Cinque Terre coastline.
