Right Here Waiting (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Elizabeth Westcott

60.96 x 45.72 x 2.54cm

3 Artist Reviews

£445

‘Right Here Waiting’ was inspired by a wildflower meadow with wild orchids, oxeye daisies, and quaking grass. In old European folklore, quaking grass was first associated with negative traits because of its tiny trembling seed heads, symbolising nervousness, timidity, and emotional uncertainty - a “trembling heart” easily disturbed by the slightest breeze. Over time, however, its delicate movement and modest appearance also gave rise to gentler meanings, and it came to represent humility, meekness, sensitivity, quiet beauty, and the fragile, transient nature of life, making it a subtle emblem of both emotional vulnerability and soft pastoral grace.

This painting was painted with acrylics and inks in heritage colours, on box canvas. It is strung at the back, ready to hang on your wall.

Materials used:

Acrylic, ink and silver-leaf
