Rhapsody in blue (2026) Original Oil Painting by Duhaj Peter
120 x 100 x 0.2cm (unframed)
£3,372.37
Original artwork description
With this painting, I did not want to evoke in the viewer only a deep aesthetic experience, but also to open a complex space for critical reflection on the transformation of identity under the influence of external factors.
The anatomical fidelity of the female body, expressing intimacy and vulnerability, is in sharp contrast with the foreign element - the flowing blue color.
Nevertheless, the woman's closed eyes and half-open mouth suppress any hint of suffering or physical discomfort. The figure is in a state of deep surrender, contemplation or even spiritual ecstasy.
The flowing liquid metaphorically represents liquid modernity, social pressure, the unfiltered flow of information and emotions that flood the individual. However, the calm expression of the face testifies to the inner stoic acceptance of this state.
The humble acceptance of reality, which sometimes dramatically enters our lives, does not have to throw us off balance and take away the beauty of life. What we perceive today as an unwanted intervention may ultimately enrich our lives...
