"Returned Heritage" is an original oil still life painting where the artist weaves personal and historical narratives through cultural objects: a Balkar carpet once owned by her great-grandparents, a jug that travelled 3,000 km from the mountains of Balkaria to the steppes of Kazakhstan and back, and pomegranates from Azerbaijan. Each element carries an individual journey, yet together they form a quiet narrative of migration, memory and return.
Painted with sensitive brushwork and a rich yet restrained palette, the work balances representation with symbolism: textiles, fruit, pottery and their layered histories become carriers of emotional resonance. Ideal for collectors of symbolic still life and narrative paintings.

Artistic Impression:
Every object in this still life has its own long history. The carpet once belonged to my great-grandparents. The jug made an enormous 3000-kilometre journey with its owner from the mountains of Balkaria to the steppes of Kazakhstan (and then back) during the deportation of the Balkar people in 1944. Even the pomegranates came from faraway and sunny Azerbaijan.
