Original artwork description
When creating this painting, I wanted to capture the serenity and transparency of sunlight over clear water. The small boat rests quietly, as if time itself has slowed down. I intentionally used saturated blues and greens, allowing cool and warm contrasts to make the white hull glow with light.
Technically, I applied confident, rhythmic brushstrokes to suggest the movement of water. Layered color blocks build depth and variation in the sea, while slightly loosened contour lines define the boat’s structure without losing spontaneity. The diagonal composition guides the viewer’s eye from the dock in the foreground toward the boat and into the distant water, creating a sense of calm infused with subtle motion.
