I have painted this in a more contemplative tone than my usual style. The colour. This work embraces restraint, favouring texture and mood over vivid contrast. The painting invites introspection, possibly reflecting a more reflective stage in the artist’s journey. So stylistically, this painting shares a common language with my other boat paintings, but the dialect has shifted—from bold and vivid to calm and introspective. There is still the quirky mystery; what is the foreground shadow?.
