Remembering Curaçao’s Pilot Boat is a continuation of a series influenced by the colors, beauty, warmth, sun, wind, waters and people is the island of Curaçao.
As Hans Hoffman taught, he believes a good abstract painting is based on something real. So, although inspired by the landscape/seascape surrounding Curaçao, these paintings are more about the colors and the feelings about the place than the place itself.
To that point, the style and color palette used to paint this piece can invoke memories of any tropical location with warm, clear waters and intense colors like Curaçao has.
