At 12 degrees North Latitude the sun is very intense. So much of the palette on Curacao is orange. Terrain, ground and buildings in oranges set against the blues and greens and whites of sky, ocean foliage. For process sake, this one began as a palette for other paintings- then over-painted with orange.
