I wanted to capture a fleeting, tranquil afternoon moment. The girl gazes down at the flowers, bathed in sunlight filtering through the leaves, forming a quiet and tender scene. She seems to be in silent conversation with nature—or perhaps deep in thought. The play of light and shadow is my way of expressing the softest memory of summer.
I used impressionistic brushwork, employing short, lively strokes to express the rhythm of light and shade. The contrast between the white dress and the shadowy background was deliberately heightened to emphasize the figure’s presence. I softened the edges purposefully to give the painting a dreamy, flowing quality.
