On the Cairngorm Mountain Range, Scotland
This original oil painting is on heavy archival handmade watercolour paper which is more like card than paper
My landscape paintings are drawn from field notes in which I quickly sketched and wrote my impressions of a very particular time in a specific place. Later these sketches and words formed the basis of paintings.
The painting is varnished with layers of matte varnish for protection and to enhance the depth of colour.
