Original artwork description:

My research revolves around women in relationship with the world. I represent her through the body, a part of it, a piece, a fragment loaded with everything that represents the woman.
They are bellies, wombs, breasts and hips, mutilated and emptied bodies. Lookin for completeness and the strength to re-establish oneself by regaining possession of one's body and self-determination.
When I started reading Simone de Beauvoir's "The Second Sex", I felt the power of those words, the importance they had over time and for me in that moment and again.
From this book came the impulse to transcribe the phrases that struck me most directly on my sculptures.
Books like this have helped me to raise awareness of myself, and consequently have participated in the creation of my sculptures, they analyze the same theme, the woman and her liberation and self-determination.
I started writing them in Italian because I was reading in my mother tongue and for me rereading Simone de Beauvoir's sentences on my works gives them meaning and strength.
In this sculpture the written sentence is: "È un maschio!". La parola "femmina" non è un peggiorativo perché colloca le radici della donna nella natura, ma perché la imprigiona nel sesso."
