This photograph shows Jinyeolgak Hall at Woljeongsa Temple on Mount Odae in Pyeongchang, its jade-green doors and vermilion columns framed by carefully sculpted pines and a wooded hillside rising steeply behind. A wide stone stair leads up to the hall's raised platform, flanked by neatly clipped hedges and a scattering of young saplings still finding their shape. The building's dancheong is unusually vivid here — deep green paneling against red pillars, with a black plaque bearing the hall's name in gold script beneath the eaves. What stands out most is the deliberate symmetry of the whole scene: trimmed trees echoing the building's straight lines, while the untamed forest behind climbs upward in every direction, refusing the same order. It's a small, well-tended clearing carved out of the mountain, holding its shape against everything wild pressing in around it. Printed on fine art paper.
