Original artwork description
Wild poppies are a subject which I return to fairly regularly. These poppies aren't so wild - they just self-seed themselves in a corner of our garden. I set these up on the old kitchen windowsill in order to paint them. Poppies have gained a melancholy reputation; here that is contrasted with the sharp spring sunshine.
This painting will be sold framed with a simple black wooden moulding (not shown in the photos).
