Terra Mystica

As the viewer gazes at my work, I hope they can’t help but be transported into my world, sailing around the world with my family for seven years. An incredible journey: 7 years, 30,000 nautical miles / 55,000 kilometers, 28 countries. Storms, waves, transatlantic passages, the almost incomprehensible vastness of the Pacific, weeks with no land in sight, isolated islands...

Today, I live and work in the enchanting medieval city of Regensburg — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — nestled on an island in the Danube River. Through painting, I soothe my longing for the boundless life at sea, capturing fragments of memory and setting them adrift across the canvas.

The "Terra Mystica" series is a celebration of the mysteries of the earth, raw power and ethereal beauty.
Rich, vibrant red… this work radiates warmth and energy, created from the memory of New Caledonia with its mystical red earth and stones.
