This painting carries a story that goes far beyond its colors. It was created in 2021, at a time when the world around me was collapsing and rebuilding at once. “The Cave of Silence” became a reflection of that inner and outer transformation — a moment when light and shadow coexist in fragile balance.
At first, the painting was a blooming garden — full of life, warmth, and hope. But later, I covered it with layers of darkness, stone, and silence — like a mountain closing the entrance to a cave. Behind this symbolic wall, the garden still exists — untouched, waiting to be found again.
On the surface of the painting, three small dots — blue, yellow, and green — carry their own meaning. Blue and yellow — the colors of my homeland, Ukraine — when mixed together, create green, the color of life and rebirth. Together, they form the letter L, standing for Love and Lytko — a personal mark of identity, hope, and emotion.
This work is filled with metaphors: water that fades into silence, tunnels of introspection, the meeting of chaos and harmony. When I look at it now, I see it not as a painting, but as a film — a story of transformation, silence, and rediscovery.
After spending two years at my home in Ukraine, this painting finally found its way to me here, in France. It carries with it the memory of where it was born — and the quiet strength of everything that has endured.
