Original artwork description:

"Shengyan" is a popular street food in the Chaoshan region of Guangdong, China.

It basically involves eating all types of seafood raw, accompanied by a special sauce that includes garlic, pepper, and other ingredients. One day, the YouTube algorithm started showing me numerous short videos about Shengyan. I discovered that it was surprisingly pleasing to my eyes—the semi-transparent texture of the shrimp flesh, the dark color of the sauce, and the white, red, and green spices.

Disclaimer: I have never been to Guangdong Province, nor have I ever consumed raw seafood except for Japanese sashimi, and oysters. I have never tried raw shrimp or lobster. However, every late night, while watching Shengyan video footage, I could almost sense the taste and texture in my mouth. I don’t know why, but it just happened. So, before I give in to eating raw shellfish, I decided to paint it instead.

Warning: I do not recommend cosuming raw shellfish like this. Please cook them throughly.

Although I tried my best to match the digital image the same as actual painting but the color may vary due to different monitor and monitor settings. Please be aware of this fact.
Hope you enjoy this one. :D
