Rainlight is my response to that charged, electric stillness after rain when the woods feel rinsed and luminous. I wanted the green to feel alive, not polite, so I built the canopy in layered, broken brush marks that allow light to flicker through rather than sit flat on the surface. Each leaf is placed with small, deliberate touches so the colour vibrates and shifts as you move around the painting.
The blue and violet ground is worked in rhythmic blocks of paint, creating a pulse beneath the vertical calm of the trees. The path is heavier, more textured, guiding you inward and grounding the composition. It sits somewhere between impression and expression, balancing structure with energy. This piece is about immersion, colour and that inevitable surge of renewal that follows a storm.
