Original artwork description
In early March 2023 we were sitting at Peninsula (Dammika's) Sri Lankan Restaurant looking towards Buckingham Palace Road one evening. It was cold and wet outside, but then I realised just how lovely the reflections of the traffic lights were on the wet roads and pavements.
It was too misty to photograph through the window, so we stood outside taking photos in the rain. This young couple were walking by. I have given them very few facial features as I wanted them to be anonymous and to be able to represent any young couple.
I expect to do other paintings showing the lovely reflections when the lights turned to green.
This is a medium size painting that is big enough to enliven a moderately large wall by itself. It is painted on canvas stretched over an internal frame and is ready to hang.
Materials used:
Acrylic paint applied with brushes, palette knives and some dripping of paint.
