Rage - oil on wood panel - 160x110 cm - 2022
This work speaks of pure and visceral anger; the large panel is dominated by the color vermilion red where in the center of the painting the slender figure of a little bird blends in with the chaos of the background, which, attacked by the creatures of the forest, transforms its peace into anger and from its wings a large fire starts which envelops All; the little bird turns into Minerva, the Goddess of just war. I began this painting in 2022, coinciding with the Women, Life, Freedom movement in Iran, when every day we witnessed the courage of our sisters and their cries for freedom and life. Because it doesn't matter how tiny the little bird is, only the magnitude of its courage matters. Rage is among the works presented in the personal exhibition CROSSOVER at the Domus Art Gallery in Athens in 2023 and is present in the exhibition catalogue.
