This painting began with a moment of contrast—cool, dense blue tones meeting a burst of warm light, expanding outward in soft pink and ochre hues.

I worked intuitively, building the surface with layered acrylic using both brush and palette knife. The composition evolves through texture and movement, where deep blue, grey, soft blush pink, warm beige, and earthy ochre interact across the canvas. The lighter area opens into a radiant passage of color, creating a sense of expansion and energy within the painting.

As I developed this piece, I was drawn to the idea of light emerging through layers—how color can transform a space and create depth beyond the surface. The textured areas reflect light differently throughout the day, revealing subtle transitions and details that continue to unfold over time.

The contrast between the darker, grounded tones and the luminous central area gives the work a strong visual presence while maintaining a refined and atmospheric quality.
