This art can be considered non-contemporary, yet at the same time, it is contemporary. Having worked in computer graphics for many years, I feel a sense of fatigue with the digital world and a deep need to gaze once more into human faces and capture a living look—something that leads us back to the human being and their inner world.
It is important for me to strip away the outside world and its noise, plunging everything into darkness so that the human face can be revealed. What people did in the past remains relevant today.
Painted in oil on canvas, this work balances classical portrait technique with a contemporary sensibility — the sitter’s expression is calm yet unguarded, inviting quiet contemplation rather than performance. A study in restraint, light, and honest observation.
