Original artwork description
It is the city and its everyday banality that attracts me; I try to fix these fragments of urban history in digital files that I then reduce and simplify into a few lines and reinterpret through painting with acrylic paints that I mix with sand to make it material.
Critics maintain that the real tends to disappear into the indifference caused by the incessant flow of suggestions, images, information, narratives that stifle the materiality of the concrete. Resisting this process is my job: through technology and its extreme plasticity I try to create fragments of reality that have their own autonomy, their silent path: far from the deafening context that surrounds them.
My latest works are all titled with the letter Q followed by a number and indicate the sequence of days and projects I worked on during the quarantine period from February and March 2020.
Artwork with certificate of authenticity.
