Prométhée is a work from the Melancholy series which deals with the relationship to interiority by taking up classic iconographic themes.
Nicolas Maureau gives here his interpretation of the mythological scene of Prometheus in Chains.
The titan Prometheus was condemned to be devoured daily by a vulture for having given fire (symbol of knowledge) to Men.
