Allegory
An interpretation of the traditional Japanese spring, with its plum and cherry blossom.
Here, engraved stones form a path in the middle of a lake.
A young Asian woman is sitting on the stone furthest to her left.
She is naked, her legs bent, her arms wrapped around her legs, in a modest pose. Her face is turned towards the viewer and she is smiling gently.
Throughout the painting, plum blossoms depict the constellation of the Taurus.
