I decided to create the “Golden Portrait Series of Women,” whose concept is to express female strength, confidence, beauty, and spirituality, and to portray femininity as I understand it.
This portrait is the second work in the series and was created using soft pastels and pastel pencils on pastel board.
I use a special technique whose essence lies in recognizing the abstract within the concrete and making the connections between these abstract forms visible in order to convey the spirit and essence of the subject.
I pay particular attention to the woman’s expression and emotions—her desires, what she wishes to tell us in this moment, what she thinks, and what she carries in her heart.
In some areas, I enjoy working with broad, expressive strokes, while other parts are rendered with a high level of detail.
