Study of primroses showing the way in which they are growing out of last year's dead leaves. Spring created out of the embers of the previous year. I was inspired simply by the contrast in my garden of the new blooms and the dried up remains of last year's leaves.

Copper plate, black and Prussian blue etching ink, ferric chloride
