Original artwork description
This painting is inspired by those long, unhurried summer afternoons where time seems to soften and stretch out endlessly. It’s about being completely present in a moment, surrounded by warmth, colour and the simple joy of being together.
The foreground flowers are painted in oil, with a more detailed and realistic approach that gives each bloom a sense of softness and depth. In contrast, the tulips are created in acrylic using expressive splatters and loose, gestural marks, bringing movement and energy into the upper part of the composition. This contrast between realism and abstraction reflects the balance between stillness and spontaneity within the moment.
There’s a calm, sunlit feeling running through the piece, like lying back in a field or park with nowhere else to be.
For me, this work is about connection, ease and those fleeting moments that feel like they could last forever.
Due to it's size, Primavera ships rolled in a tube. This is much safer for the artwork in transit to prevent damage. Your local picture framers can re stretch the canvas to hang.
