Original artwork description:

Poppies (2021)
Acrylic painting. 40 x 40 cm.
I went on a little trip. We arrived at the poppy field.
I see how poppies are spilling over the fields like a fiery sea, where waves of pain change to waves of lulling opium. I see myself in this fiery sea. I am this sea.
We continued our journey, but I didn't see anything else. I thought about poppies.
And I see crying poppies.

It was the most emotional and fastest process of creating a painting.
I love these crying poppies.
Poppies have become another important image in my work.

Later I learn about their significance in world culture:
1. In Persian culture, poppy is a symbol of joy, eternal love, desire for a secret intimate relationship.
2. In Christianity, the poppy was a symbol of the approach of the Last Judgment.
3. At the Egyptians, the poppy is a symbol of female beauty and youth.
4. Hellas and Ancient Rome were the biggest admirers of the poppy. The poppy was a symbol of the god of sleep, Hypnos, and the god of death, Thanos (but his dream is deeper). The poppy was a symbol of fertility. And Homer compared him with the
soldiers who died on the battlefield.
