We were fortunate enough as an extended family to spend a week in Poppi, Tuscany, high in the mountains. This is a sister painting to Poppi, Tuscany 1, which shows the opposite view. Acrylic paint used here allows for the acid bright Mediterranean colour. Here are quiet areas contrasting with louder conversations achieved with pattern and tone. Very much designed with contrasts in mind, it represents the difference these special events make in my family.
