Original artwork description
This original oil painting of the Point Cabrillo Light Station was inspired by the beautiful light on a sunny autumn day on the California coast. This State Park occupies a spectacular headland extending out into the Pacific. I enjoyed the openness around the lighthouse - the acres of undeveloped coastal bluffs.
Materials used to create this artwork: Professional quality oil paint on Oil-Primed Linen on ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) panel. ACM panel consists of two strong sheets of aluminum bonded to a solid polyethylene core. The panel is coated on one side with a white polyester coil coating and a mill (polished aluminum) finish on the other side. ACM art panels offer a superior support for painting and mounting because ACM panels are virtually unaffected by environmental changes, such as relative humidity (RH) and temperature.
The painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The artwork is unframed and will need a frame to hang on the wall.
