Poetry is literature that evokes a specific emotional response through language chosen and is arranged for its meaning, sound, and rhythm. It is a form of expression that encourages us to connect and find meaning in our experiences.
Life is a chain of events, big and small, happy and not so joyful happenings which evoke emotional responses continuously.
With this series ‘Poetry of life’, my intention is to give expression to this chain of events not through words, but through paint, with visual elements, marks, textures and a history of layers in the paint surface.
This painting in the series 'Poetry of life' shows bold shapes that contrast beautifully with the soft muted pinks, cremes and greys in the background. Here and there, traces of collage are visible. The viewer is invited to approach, wander around and enjoy the subtle conversations going on.
