DESCRIPTION

The title "Plums or Pear?" is a question frozen on the canvas. What will you choose? The sweet, sunny pear, so openly revealing its delicate core with dark seeds? Or the rich, deep plum with its mysterious pit and velvety skin, hiding a tart juiciness?

The cut fruits expose their essence, showing that what's inside is far more complex than it appears on the outside. I wanted to show that a whole universe is hidden within every simple decision.

I worked with oil paints, using expressive, textural brushstrokes to convey the juiciness of the fruit and the emotional tension of the moment. The delicate floral pattern on the plate is a reminder that even the deepest reflections take place within the context of our ordinary, everyday lives.
