“Plum pie” is an original oil on linen still life by Anastasia Borodina, inspired by the still-life masters of the Dutch tradition and, simultaneously, by the idea of visualising a plum pie recipe in the form of products from which it can be prepared.

The painting blends classical restraint and modern immediacy. The linen support gives depth and texture to the surface, adding material richness that complements the painting’s expressive feel. Ideal for collectors of contemporary still-life paintings, those interested in the convergence of classical technique and modern subject, and interiors seeking art with subtle narrative and craftsmanship.

Artist Impressions:
This still-life was created in the years after I graduated from the Ilya Repin Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Within the walls of the Academy, as well as in the broad academic community, still lifes typically imitate the works of old masters, which means they are assembled from various old objects, plaster moulds and draperies. While working at home, I was thinking about a new still-life staging and tried to move away from the academic tradition as much as possible.
I have painted this still life as part of a series with "11.22", but with a different idea of visualising a plum pie recipe in the form of products from which it can be prepared.

Technical Information:
The artwork will be shipped directly from my artist's workshop, accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity. I always take great care to ensure that my artworks arrive at customers in perfect condition and ship them with a tracking number.
