A well known view of the East Neuk village in Fife, Scotland called Pittenweem. I chose to paint it seen through the dried grasses during autumn, or early winter. I liked the contrast of the numerous lines of the dried grasses set against the relative calm of the water in the harbour and the curve of the line of houses along the water's edge.
